What made you join Merck?
I previously worked as a LCD engineer with chemistry background. As I was looking for a job with a multinational chemical company, Merck was always my first choice of employer in the liquid crystal industry because of its well-known brand name and focus on innovation. Later when I got an offer from the Merck Hong Kong LC team, I was very excited and immediately accepted.
What are your current responsibilities?
My current role is leading an energetic sales team that handles a 100 Million USD liquid crystal business in southern China. Our key customers are specialized to produce high quality LCD panels for famous TV brands and European car makers.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I enjoy everything because I am working with a great team — the China LC team! Within the team, our relationships are just like that of brothers and sisters in a family. Whenever someone needs help, we will spontaneously support each other to finish the task on target and on time. Even if the task is sometimes outside a team member’s area of responsibility or if it seems like “mission impossible”, we just try our best and do it! Our team spirit has been really strong for long time!
Which skills are most important for your work?
As the business environment is so dynamic, regularly regaining my mental energy is very important to keeping my positive and creative thinking fresh so I can face the challenge everyday.
